Breakfast Scones with Bacon and Gruyere
Breakfast may have been hurried but our bacon and gruyère scones with scrambled eggs were absolutely delicious and will certainly keep me going as I head out on an essential dress shopping mission.
Everything tastes better with chocolate doesn’t it.
Crusty White Bread
I have blatantly stolen my Dad’s recipe for crusty white bread.
Whilst the pastries did taste absolutely delicious, they were pretty labour intensive and had we wished to eat them for breakfast instead of late morning coffee I would have had to get up at about 2am…..
I ate the bread for lunch topped with tomatoes, basil, parmesan and a splurge of balsamic vinegar and garlic oil. Sitting with my back to the kitchen window and the heating cranked up an extra degree or two I am trying to convince myself that spring is nearly here!
English Breakfast Muffins
On your marks, get set, bake…For their technical challenge the contestants were asked to bake English Breakfast Muffins, and I decided to give them a go too.
Best of all was the fantastic smell throughout the house as it baked.
Spiced Fruit Bread
Whilst it is not a Hot Cross Bun (yes, I am ever so slightly obsessed with them), the flavours are similar and it did go a long way to satisfying my Easter craving.
Sweet Tea Loaf
Toasted and buttered it was absolutely delicious for breakfast.
3 Seed Bread
Valentine’s Day breakfast: Heart shaped toast.
So as not to be accused of “waffling”, I have decided that this lazy Sunday breakfast recipe needs no further introduction…..
